The Fieldwork team

Some of the team ready to embark on the road trip from Nairobi, Kenya, to Engaruka, Tanzania

The AAREA project team arrived back in the UK at the end of October after completing eight weeks of fieldwork in Engaruka, Tanzania. Our team was bolstered for the duration of the fieldwork by the addition of four students from the University of Nairobi (Joshua Abungu, Kiplangat Moses, Harrison Mukara and Mark Kamutu), as well as by John Kanyingi, the GIS and survey technician at The British Institute in East Africa (BIEA),  graduate attachees to the BIEA Charles Kinyera and Chimwemwe Phiri, and by the field archaeologists Sheline Lugonzo and Gilbert Oteyo.
